Amy Lou Adams Amy Lou Adams born August 20, 1974, Aviano Italy American actress. She is renowned for her critically-acclaimed performance of charming and naive people. Adams was raised in Italy and her father was with the U.S. military and she grew up living in Castle Rock Colorado as one of seven kids. At the beginning of 1990, she started performing professionally and dancing at the Boulder Dinner Theatre and the Country Dinner Playhouse in Colorado. She then moved to Minnesota and was made a part of Drop Dead Gorgeous, a mock documentarian film about beauty contests. After her screen debut that was successful where she played an obnoxious but friendly contestant, Janet moved from Minnesota to Los Angeles where she began professional acting. She is also the mother of Kelly Curtis & Jamie Lee Curtis. Leigh was discovered by actress Norma Shearer who signed her a contract be a part of MGM during the 1940s. She appeared in several popular movies in the subsequent decade including Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (1960) as well as Living It Up (a Martin and Lewis film from 1954).
