April Lockhart
April Lockhart was born on July 4 1995 in seventh grade. She began playing guitar and taking piano lessons which ignited her passion for writing songs. At the age of 12 April came up with her first original song Different. At the age of 14, April spent much time writing lyrics and perfecting her music ability. Over the next few months, she started taking writing trips with her father to LA as well as NY. April started to incorporate additional relevant subjects into the Take my Hand song for some acquaintances, including peer pressure problems and suicides among teenagers. Lockhart has her own fan base and also works as a lifestyle blogger with the well-known Ilia clean beauty brand. Since she was born without a left hand, she has a significant part to play in her. However, it's not the entire tale. The profile of Lockhart on Instagram does not conceal her handicap, but it doesn't focus solely on the issue. What message is it sending? The message? That we each contain multitudes, that our physical and identity bodies aren't what they seem. Lockhart says in a video interview with Lockhart via video "I don't think that is what defines me. My goal is not to have an impact on disability, because I've so much more to offer." This doesn't influence my day-to-day life. I carry on the same way as I always do and have come up with my own methods to adjust. It's also part of me and I feel that it's crucial to speak about. Lockhart encourages us to keep going with self-acceptance. Still, she acknowledges going through periods of feeling insecure about her physique and being uncomfortable in certain clothes that exposed her arms. She now wears whatever she wants. and she shares pictures on social networks. Self-love she said is a kind of journey. "I do not think that you will ever be in that place," she said. The same is true for everybody, no matter what their degree of self-confidence. The people around you with, who know your personal story and who can look inside your soul are the most important people who can remind you of the things you're concerned about.
